Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: a situation report for July 31; and on the intended withdrawal of the 29th Panzer Grenadier and 15th Panzer Divisions on July 30 and 31; on South-east Europe: a situation report in Yugoslavia, for August 1; from the German secret service: of information passed from Bucharest to Berlin on Allied raids on August 1; from the Chinese minister in Ankara, on Balkan peace moves, on July 31; from the French ambassador in Tokyo, describing Japanese reactions to the Italian situation, on July 29; from the Chinese chargé in Berne, on Italian policy towards the Allies, on July 31; and from the Portuguese minister in Berlin, detailing German measures in Italy, on August 1.
