Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Italy: a German report from Rome giving an eye-witness account of the revolution, on July 26; on Southern Europe: of the 2nd Air Corps' orders to fighter units to keep a reserve of fuel sufficient to transfer to Northern Italy at short notice, on July 28; that the German Air Force (GAF) are planning to identify and smash Allied concentrations in Sicily to inhibit preparations for large-scale attacks, on July 27; of orders from Fieldmarshal Richthofen to the 2nd Air Fleet for the development and defence of airfields, on July 27; a situation report for July 27 for the Agira sector; and SHARK: for July 19.
