Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that the 29th Panzer Division is on the Northern Wing along the coast of Sicily, on July 26; that an important convoy en route from Maddalena to Genoa including the Randazzo and Lucera is due on July 30; that German aircrews returning to Germany to pick up new aircraft are possibly to return to the San Vito area by August 8; the 15th Panzer Corps reports losses of the motor transport vehicles of a newly arrived unit through Allied air attacks, on July 22; that Allied landings are anticipated near Taormina because of the bombing raids and sea bombardment, on July 28; and of German reinforcements intended for Sardinia being diverted to Southern Italy, on July 26; and on South-east Europe: of operations in Croatia; and of guerrillas pushing towards Sarajevo, on July 27.
