Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: a situation report for July 25, stating that greatly superior Allied forces are opposing the 15th, 129th and 10th Panzer Grenadier Regiments in Sicily, on July 25; and of orders from the Admiral in the Aegean to Naval Communications Officers in Salonika, Lemnos and Crete for a German take over of all Italian communications centres, peacefully if possible, on receipt of the codeword DATUMSGRENZE on July 26.
