Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that three landing craft were destroyed, and another was damaged, by an air attack off the north Sicilian coast, on July 24; an Italian naval appreciation on July 24 that there are sufficient Allied landing craft in Malta and Bizerta to transport three landing divisions, and sufficient in Tripolitania and Tunisia for four more divisions; and CX/MSS/2953/T29 (see 3996).
