Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: of arrangements being made to remove important goods of the German Air Force (GAF) organisation from Sicily back to the mainland, on July 22; and of a shortage of aircraft fuel and aircraft ammunition in southern Italy, with the situation described as extremely grave, on July 20; and on South-east Europe: of preparations by the GAF for the increased use of Albanian airfields, on July 23.
