A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that Kesselring calls for a report on the intentions of the Italian formations still remaining, on July 18; of a shortage of bombs at Foggia as a result of an Allied raid, on July 18; on flak reinforcements for the Straits of Messina, on July 18; that the 16th Panzer Division was instructed to hand-over lorries in exchange for suitable vehicles, on July 19; that the 15th Grenadier Regiment is to be ferried to Sicily, on July 18; and that the Portuguese ambassador to London was dismissed, on July 20.
