A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: of transport restrictions in Italy for July 18 to 20 in view of the piling up of materials for transport; that the Catania-Caltanisetta railway was damaged by bombs, on July 20; that the 15th Regiment of the 29th Panzer Grenadier Division was ferried across to Sicily, on July 19; of Sicilian civilians destroying and looting the German weather traffic station at Palermo, on July 20; that six German E-boats arrived in Crotone on July 20; of a serious aircraft fuel supply, aircraft ammunition and bombs situation in the heel of Italy on July 19; and of an aircraft fuel shortage in the Naples area on July 20.
