A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: a situation report for July 15; of the German front line in Sicily on July 18; a situation report for July 18; of indications that the holding of the line from Valguarnera-Enna is considered impossible on July 18 without receiving air support; that a shortage of locomotives on Sardinia interferes with the transport programme, on July 16; that ground attack aircraft based at Crotone are inoperative owing to a lack of bombs, and fighter operations are hindered by a lack of auxiliary tanks, on July 18; and Naval Headlines.
