Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that six Allied warships bombarded the Sicilian coast on July 18; of continued fighting south of Catania, on July 17; on the Axis front line, as at July 17; that Kesselring orders the immediate return of all Italian motor transport requisitioned by the Germans, on July 17; the Hermann Goering Division reports that 900 of the surrounded Axis parachutists had returned by July 17; that the German Air Force (GAF) is to concentrate their attacks on Allied tank and motor transport concentrations on July 18; that the GAF was warned not to attack units identified beyond all doubt as hospital ships, on July 17; and Naval Headlines.
