Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: of the measures to be taken if the Italians do not attack, on July 15; on the transfer to Vibo Valencia of air defence artillery, on July 15; that Goering orders the reinforcement of the air defence artillery protection of the Messina Straits, on July 15; of the resubordination of the air defence artillery in the Messina Straits, on July 15; that all rumour-mongers are to be shot, on July 15; on the location of the battle HQ of the Hermann Goering Division, on July 15; that the German Navy are to transport fuel away from Palermo, on July 15; on the next line of defence for the Hermann Goering Division, on July 15; and of a German Air Force (GAF) attack on enemy concentrations, on July 15; Naval Headlines; and BJ 120022 was sent to the Foreign Office (see 3896).
