Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that German reinforcements are to be sent to Catania from Reggio, on July 14; that Axis anti-aircraft units in the Messina Straits are to engage sea targets, on July 14; of the German Air Force (GAF) 2nd Air Fleet's order of the day, for an all-out effort to annihilate the enemy, on July 12; of the Italian 6th Army moving to Randazzo, on July 13; that the 15th Panzer Division is protecting the right flank of the army, on July 12; of the 15th Panzer Division being transferred to the east flank, on July 10; and on GAF reconnaissance of Allied shipping at Bizerta, on July 14; on Germany: that German air defence radars are to keep special watch for RAF Mosquitos, on July 9; of a heavy British raid on Aachen, on the night of July 13-14; and that German night-fighter crews are over-strained, with additional rations being required, on June 30.
