Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: of heavy damage in an Allied raid on Reggio airfield, on July 11; that Axis E-boats are to operate off the east coast of Sicily, on July 12; and that a fighter bomber operation is to be prepared for two German Air Force (GAF) groups on Sicily, on July 11; on the Southern Russian Front: of an increase in Axis supply ships heading to the Black Sea, on July 10; on Roumania: that the GAF proposes the creation of German-Roumanian groups under the GAF's command for the defence of the oil district, on July 11; and Naval Headlines.
