Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that an air defence artillery regiment is to move from Capua to Catania, on July 10; that German E-boats are to conduct an operation in the Cape Passero area, on the night of July 11-12; that German Air Force (GAF) Ju88s were attacked by saboteurs at Ottana airfield, on the night of July 11-12; a GAF situation report on Sicily for July 9-10; the German secret service in Rome reports no essential change in the situation, as at July 10; that Taormina was evacuated, on July 10; and German Abwehr intelligence reports Taormina to be in a difficult situation, on July 10; on the Southern Russian Front: on the German front line in the Bielgorod area, on July 9; and on South-east Europe: that the GAF complains of a shortage of reconnaissance aircraft, on July 11.
