A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: of Allied raids on Sicily, on July 9; of the establishment of a German Air Force (GAF) in Sicily battle HQ, on July 8; on the strength of the 90th Panzer Division on Sardinia, on July 8; of two regiments of an Italian parachutist division being on Sardinia, on July 8; and on GAF defensive measures in the event of Allied landings, from July 5; on North Europe: that a German flotilla raises the alarm, on July 8; that an Allied naval battle group is off the west coast of Norway, on July 8; and the GAF reports the composition and position of the Allied force, as at July 8; and on the Southern Russian Front: that the GAF employed strong forces in front of the 4th Panzer Army, on July 9.
