Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: on the degree of readiness at Sicilian ports, on July 8; that a German Air Force (GAF) in Sardinia fighter unit is to conduct exhaustive reconnaissance, on July 8; and that Italian E-boats are to attack landing craft at Sousse, on the night of July 8-9; Naval Headlines; from the Japanese minister in Bucharest, on the situation in Roumania, as of June 30; from the Japanese minister in Sofia, on Turkey's policy of neutrality, on June 30; and from the Japanese minister to the Vatican, on the war situation, and the need to encourage Italy, as at July 2.
