This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that the Italians estimate the Allies have the capability to ship 10 divisions, on July 7; that the German Air Force (GAF) sight an Allied naval force off Licata, and urge special vigilance, on July 7; that the Ground Officer Commanding (GOC) the Armed Forces in Sicily is to supply troops for the repair of GAF runways after Allied attacks, on July 7; that 9 British soldiers were captured on Sardinia, on July 7; and that GAF reconnaissance shows that Bizerta has shipping for three and a half landing divisions, on July 6; on South-east Europe: that the Germans are to begin building up stocks of armour-piercing ammunition in Greece, in view of the difficult transport situation, on July 2; on the Mediterranean: on GAF reconnaissance of Sfax harbour, on July 6; that GAF operational station command is to transfer from the southern Russian Front to Athens, on July 4; and that younger officers are to be used in operations against partisans, on July 3; and on North-west Europe: that the GAF are to conduct photo-reconnaissance of assembly areas for ships in Scotland and Iceland on July 8.
