A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: that Kesselring expects an Allied offensive, for which all troops are to be ready, on July 7; on arrangements for blocking Trapani and Marsala harbours, on July 5-6; that night fighters are to operate at over 1000 metres in anti-aircraft artillery zones, on July 6; that 3 English parachutists were captured in Sardinia, on July 7; and a German Air Force (GAF) in Sardinia fighter unit serviceability return, on July 6; on South-east Europe: of a German complaint that rail transport to Salonika is not up to programme, on July 1; of the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the Southeast's requirement for additional army troops, on July 3; and the C-in-C Southeast's day report for July 4; on the Southern Russian Front: that the GAF supported an attack of the SS Panzer Corps with over 1200 sorties, on July 6; and 2857/T8 was sent to the Director of Military Intelligence (DMI) (see 3789).
