Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on South Europe: of air raids on Messina, on July 5 and 7; that the German Air Force (GAF) are to return armour-piercing ammunition from Sardinia to Italy, on July 7; that GAF Sardinia fighters are short of aviation fuel, on July 7; that German E-boats are to be prepared for night landings from Bizerta, on July 6; and that a GAF heavy fighter unit is to transfer from Sicily to north Germany, on July 6; on the Mediterranean: of GAF reconnaissance of Allied shipping at Bizerta, on July 5; on South-east Europe: that the Italian Brennero Division is to transfer from Greece to Albania on July 7; and the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the Southeast's evening report for July 1; on Germany: that Spanish bomber crews are to be attached to a GAF training unit on July 8; and on the Russian Front: that a GAF fighter unit claims a world record number of victories, on July 5.
