Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that German civilians in Italy belonging to an emergency defence unit are to be armed in case of imminent invasion, on July 3; of the damage sustained on Sardinian airfields, on July 4; fuel stock returns by the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) South's Chief quartermaster (QM), on July 3; a list of German Air Force (GAF) personnel on Sardinian airfields, as of July 3; and that destruction of Allied parachutists is to be given first priority by the GAF's forces in Sardinia, on July 4; and on South-east Europe: of a plan to extend the Brindisi-Tirana air route to Salonica in order to improve communications with the Italian Army Group East, on June 26.
