Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that the Sardinia Command has been renamed the 90th Light Division; of an Italian cruiser sinking at Leghorn on June 29; and of an Axis transport ship being sunk by a bombing attack during the night of June 29 at Messina; the Japanese military attaché in Lisbon passes on reports about the probable intentions of the Allies, on June 27; from the Japanese military attaché in Rome, on the Pantelleria and Lampedusa operations including their surrender, on June 28; and from the Japanese minister in Madrid, on the internal political situation, as at June 27.
