A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: of a proclamation by Kesselring, on June 26; of indications that the [116th] Panzer Division is moving to the Bari area, on June 26; and on the subordination of the German Air Force (GAF) in the western Mediterranean, on June 26; on South-east Europe: of unspecified flak equipment being flown from Italy to Salonika, on June 26; and that the Berlin authorities request that the full serviceability of certain German divisions in the Balkans is to be restored by July 5, on June 25; on the Russian Front: a summary of operations by the 4th Air Fleet on June 25; from the Japanese minister in Sofia, on Soviet/Japan relations, as of June 21; from the Japanese ambassador in Vichy, on the internal political situation in France, as at June 21; from the Portuguese minister in Berlin, describing the effects of British air raids in the Rhine area, on June 24; and SHARK: reporting success on June 21 and 22.
