Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Southern Europe: that Kesselring orders reinforcements to be flown to Sardinia, on June 8; of German Air Force (GAF) attacks on shipping around Pantelleria for the night of June 8 instead of attacking Djidjelli; and the Italians report six Allied units to be approaching Pantelleria, with others following, on June 9; on North Africa: that the target for an Axis air attack was subsequently changed from Bone to Djidjelli, on June 8; Naval Headlines; from the Japanese minister in Budapest, on German fears of an Allied offensive in Dalmatia, on June 4; from the Japanese ambassador in Ankara, describing British troop movements, on June 5; on special security measures ordered by the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) of the GAF for the transportation and unloading of a new weapon, on May 27; on Northern Europe: on special security measures for another new weapon, on May 28; on South-eastern Europe: that a German Army supply organisation is to be set up in Belgrade-Nisch, on June 5; a day report on fighting in the Balkans, on June 5; and that two divisions in Yugoslavia are seriously short of motor transport, on June 8.
