Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file contains a message from Brigadier LRC Hollis for the Prime Minister (PM); a BONIFACE summary; and the following reports on the Mediterranean: that German Air Force (GAF) Sardinia torpedo aircraft are to make an offensive reconnaissance around Antelleria to look for attempted Allied landings, on May 24; that the GAF are to attack landing craft at Bizerta on May 25; that Kesselring orders there to be no more than 2 GAF bomber groups in Sicily, on May 24; of GAF fighter reinforcements heading to Sicily to attack Allied targets, on May 24; that an Allied air raid on Reggio causes heavy damage, on May 24; that the German Navy are to close the western entrance to the Aegean with mines, on May 21; and on the order of battle and the vehicle and tank strength of the 1st Panzer Division, which is moving to Southeast Europe, on May 23.
