Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on the Mediterranean: of contact being lost with one of the three small ships heading for Sidi Daoud, on May 8; and that Kelibia is considered the only place suitable for unloading submarines which should transport fuel only, on May 7; Naval Headlines, covering the Admiral Scheer being expected to arrive in Swinemuende, on May 7; that demolitions at Tunis were ordered by the Ground Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC in C) of the Army Group, on May 7; that the destroyer Hermes is to be scuttled; that the operational HQ of the German Naval Command in Tunisia is to transfer north of Soliman; that Trapani is to be used as the central operational base for the 3rd E-boat Flotilla; and that the Italian Naval authorities in Toulon were ordered to prepare the ex-French destroyers Siroco, L'Adroit and Lansquenet for towing as soon as possible, on May 7.
