A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports from BONIFACE on North Africa: the German Naval Command in Tunisia report the withdrawal of heavy Flak units from Bizerta for use at the front; and the unloading of small craft only, with large vessels diverted to Tunis, including the San Antonio, on May 5; that an Assault Gun unit is to go to North Africa, on May 4; a morning report from Army Group Africa for May 3 and 4, describing Allied pressure on the rearguards of the 5th Panzer Army; of shipping being sunk in Tunis Harbour in an Allied air raid, on May 5; a report of an Allied air attack on the hospital ship Principessa Giovanna; the German Naval Command in Italy report that the San Antonio was sunk north of Cape San Vito, on May 5; of the supply situation in Tunisia on May 2, with all units' fuel stocks with the exception of the 10th Panzer Division being exhausted, and of there being the greatest difficulty supplying ammunition, rations and water; a morning report from Army Group Africa for May 3, detailing a withdrawal along the coastal strip according to plan, and Allied forces concentrating in the Medjez El Bab area; and a 7th Panzer regiment tank serviceability report for May 4.
