A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that Marsch fighting battalions are to be sent over to Army Group Africa in May, as organised by the General Staff in Berlin, on April 20; that an assault gun unit of the Hermann Goering Division is required in Africa, on April 20; that the Italians failed to provide sufficient transport to make the 20th Flak Division mobile, on April 19; and of a request for drivers and replacement personnel, on April 20; and from the Turkish minister in Madrid, that the Allies are to hasten the invasion of France; that de Gaulle is to be the commander of an expeditionary force to be sent to France; that Giraud is to remain in Africa; and speculating on subsequent developments in France, on April 16.
