A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on the Southern Russian Front: of German Air Force (GAF) attacks on the Novorossisk bridgehead, on April 17; a GAF report for April 19; and of the Italian 2nd Army Corps and air force units being withdrawn, on April 19; on the Mediterranean: of the Allies sinking ships in a Sardinian harbour, on April 18; of measures to be taken by GAF units to protect aircraft, on April 19; of Axis battle groups in Sicily being given information on English airborne troops, on April 19; of an Axis ship being torpedoed off Elba, on April 19; that the GAF are expecting Allied attacks on airfields in Sicily and Sardinia, on April 19; of an important Italian troop convoy heading to Rhodes on April 21; that the GAF are to make photo reconnaissance over Turkey, on April 18; and that the Germans seek aircraft containing deserters, on April 18; on North Africa: the GAF report Allied advances, on April 20; the GAF report a counter attack is making good progress, on April 20; on GAF Tunis' targets for the night of April 20-21; that a GAF Stuka unit is to transfer to Sardinia, on April 19; that GAF anti-tank aircraft are to transfer to Sardinia, on April 19; on the movement of anti-tank aircraft, on April 19; that a GAF fighter is to transfer to Sicily to guard convoys, on April 19; and that Berlin seeks the whereabouts of Lord Louis Mountbatten, on April 15.
