Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of British advances north west of Kairouan, on April 11-12; that the Italian 1st Army complains of the lack of German Air Force (GAF) support against continuous Allied air attacks, on April 9; GAF' Tunis 1st evening report for April 12; of an Allied air attack on April 12; an Army Group Africa report for April 9, noting that the enemy is pressing, and giving the 1st Italian Army's battle strength; and that the Germans agree to a neutral zone for the Bey of Tunis, on April 9; from the Chinese chargé in Berne, describing German summer campaign plans in the east, on April 10; from the Japanese minister in Stockholm, on German and Soviet prospects on the Russian Front, as of April 3; from the Turkish minister in Madrid, on the prospects for an Allied invasion in the Mediterranean, on April 10; and from the Turkish military attaché in Kuibyshev, forwarding Japanese information on Hitler's rejection of peace with the Soviet Union, on April 10.
