Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that an Allied attack is expected on March 28; that the German Air Force (GAF) is unable to attack in front of the 1st Italian Army because of bad weather, on the night of March 28-29; that Rommel urgently needs ammunition, fuel and mines, on March 27; GAF reconnaissance reports lively enemy traffic, on March 28; that the GAF are flying in mines and ammunition, on March 27-28; GAF reconnaissance reports on tanks and mechanised transport, on March 28; of the 5th Panzer Army holding, and the 1st Italian Army withdrawing, on March 27; a GAF Tunis report for March 28; and a GAF Tunis evening report, on March 28; on the Mediterranean: that the GAF are to reconnoitre between Pantelleria and Tripoli, on March 28; that GAF Sardinia was ordered to reconnoitre for enemy landing operations, on March 28; and that a ship blows up in the Naples harbour, on March 28.
