Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a German Air Force (GAF) at Tunis report on the Allies' activity near Mareth, on March 24; that the main effort of the GAF during the night is to be in front of the 21st Panzer Division, on March 24; a small German unit, operating in the Mezzouna area, reports that it is weakly supported against Allied attacks, on March 23; that two troops of artillery are to be sent to the Centauro Division from the 1st Army, on March 23; the Italian 1st Army reports its tank strength, on March 23; that a reconnaissance unit in the Maknassy area is ordered to hold its position to the last, on March 24; the 164th Infantry Division's situation report, on March 23; that the German Africa Corps withdraws, on March 23; of Axis concern about the Allies' fore-knowledge of German intentions; of the 21st Panzer Division's tank holding; that Mezzouna is closed to all aircraft; that GAF Tunis gives operational orders for March 25; reports on Allied raids on Tunisian towns; that night harassing attacks are ordered in the Foum Tatahouine area; that the 2nd Air Corps' intentions for the night of March 24-25 include an attack on Allied naval forces en route to the eastern Tunisian coast; a GAF Tunis situation report; of the orders for GAF Bizerta for March 25; a GAF Tunis report on sightings of Allied vehicles in southern Tunisia; and GAF Tunis gives a reconnaissance report on the Allies in southern Tunisia.
