A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: the German Africa Corps reports that 25-26 tanks are serviceable on the Gafsa front, on March 23; the German Air Force (GAF) at Tunis reports its targets on the southern Tunisian Front for the night of March 24-25; of the defensive positions of the 164th Division on the southern flank, on March 23; of operations by the 2nd Air Corps in southern Tunisia for the night of March 23-24; that no operations for the night of March 24-25 are intended by the 10th Air Corps - C annotates that the 10th Air Corps is based in Greece but most of the aircraft have been transferred to the 2nd Air Corps which is based in Sicily and Sardinia; that no operations are intended by GAF reconnaissance in Sardinia owing to a lack of forces; that the 2nd Air Corps is to attack targets before the Mareth line during the night of March 24-25; a German ammunition return showing low quantities, on March 23; and of approval of the amalgamation of GAF field formations into a brigade and to be subordinated under Division Hermann Goering, on March 21.
