Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that Kesselring proposes the insertion of German stiffeners into Italian units following problems with the Italian Trieste and Young Fascist Divisions, on March 18; that the 1st Italian Army considers on March 19 that after a successful artillery bombardment of the 8th Army, ammunition supplies should take priority over other supplies; an Army Group Africa situation report for March 19; and a German general intelligence report for March 18; on the Russian Front: that Hitler thanks his troops for turning the tide of battle, on March 19; and Naval Headlines.
