Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a report from Army Group Africa for March 16 on the activities of the 5th Panzer Army and the Italian 1st Army, describing poor weather on the Northern Front for the 5th Panzer Army, and that the 1st Army was subjected to a major Allied attack in the Mareth area during the night of March 16/17; that the Axis ammunition and fuel supply position is causing concern; of Axis plans for March 17; an Army Group Africa report for March 18; and that Allied prisoner of war reports indicate that following heavy losses during their initial attack the Allies will bring in further reinforcements before continuing to attack the Mareth position.
