Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that the Italian 1st Army lost 43 tanks on March 6; and that the German Air Force (GAF) at Tunis is to support the 5th Panzer Army to drive the enemy from Medjez El Bab, on March 9; on Northern Europe: of a GAF warning that the British fleet with assault boats is at sea, on March 9; on the Russian fronts: that the Germans advance towards Kharkov, but are retreating elsewhere, on March 8; Naval Headlines, covering an urgent need of supplies for Tunisia; from the Turkish ambassador in Vichy, on French apprehensions, as of March 3; and from the Turkish ambassador in Rome, describing a visit of Ribbentrop to Rome seeking Italian troops for the Russian Front; and that 6 divisions are to be sent to France, on March 4.
