Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: an Army Group Africa report of March 2, on the status of the two operations ordered by the Commando Supremo, noting the lack of success by the 5th Panzer Army in the northern sector but that preparations for an attack in the southern sector and the Mareth Front were continuing according to plan; of the proposed reorganisation of the German/Italian command in Greece as set out by the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) for the South-east on February 13 and submitted to German High Command in Berlin, proposing that three more German divisions are to be deployed to the area, and giving suggestions of possible friction in the German/Italian command structure; on the Russian Front: a report of March 3, noting more Soviet successes; 2205/T11 was sent to the Director of Military Intelligence (DMI) (see 2469).
