Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of the 15th Panzer Division's tank returns for February 26; of preparations to use smoke mortars on the Mareth Front, with specialists to be flown over from Italy for this, on February 27; the Tunis Air Corps' report for February 28 and their combat plans for March 1; and of Italian measures to strengthen the northern coast of Sicily pending the arrival of the German Hermann Goering Division, on February 27; and on the Russian Front: that anti-aircraft artillery defences are to be reinforced at Kerch, on February 27, with men and equipment to be flown in from Germany.
