Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that the 10th and 21st Panzer Divisions are to remain directly subordinated to Army Group Africa as a mobile strike group, on February 26; that some 100 German Air Force (GAF) transport aircraft are to fly troops into Tunis from Europe, on February 28; that the GAF was ordered to reconnoitre railways in the Tripoli area and Cyrenaica to determine their use by Allied forces; and a 1st Italian Army report for February 27; and on the Russian Front: that the Germans are to evacuate the male population of areas about to be surrendered to prevent the Russians making good their losses by compulsory recruiting, on February 25.
