Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: the Tunis Air Corps' report for February 26 and their combat plans for February 27; that the German Africa Corps Battle Group is to withdraw to Beni Zelten during the night of February 25/26, destroying Gafsa airfield before their departure; of the locations of the Panzer Army Africa and German Africa Corps battle HQs, on February 26; of the targeting for German Air Force (GAF) units, on February 26; of tasking for the 10th and 21st Panzer Divisions from Rommel's HQ, on February 26; that the GAF HQ in Berlin informs the Tunis Air Corps that the Allies are using deception extensively but that it is almost certain that large-scale landings can be expected in March, probably in the Mediterranean and in order of probability in Sicily, Crete, Sardinia and Corsica; of a U.S. heavy bomber attack against Cagliari and Elmas airfields, on February 26, noting that Italian fighters failed to engage the bombers; and that the Germans are considering an encircling attack against the area east of Medenine to overcome the difficulties of the terrain, on February 26; Naval Headlines; on the Russian Front: of the GAF's reconnaissance results for February 24 and expected Soviet moves; of German intentions in their counter-offensive in the Donetsk area, on February 25; and a German naval summary for February 24 covering the Baltic, Norwegian and North Seas, the Atlantic Ocean and the Black Sea.
