Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that the Commando Supremo, General Ambroisio, instructs Rommel, the 1st Army and the 5th Panzer Army to organise a tactical withdrawal and gives a future detailed Axis battle plan for Tunisia, including realignment of their forces, on February 23; the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) the Tunis Air Corps informs Rommel that there is a unique opportunity of striking at the British 8th Army, on February 24; of the Tunis Air Corps' combat plans for February 26; and a 5th Panzer Army report for February 23; and on Western Europe: of the refusal by the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) of the German Air Force (GAF) to increase the war establishment for the HQ of the 9th Air Corps of the 3rd Air Fleet (located in France, Holland and Belgium), on the grounds that even the present establishment was now at risk, on February 23.
