Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: an establishment and strength report from the 164th Light Division for February 9; a report from the 5th Panzer Army for February 10, stating that the whole sector is coming under artillery fire; and that an Allied attack in Sedjenane Valley was repulsed; a German Air Force (GAF) report from Tunis for February 12, that bad weather is hampering operations; and that Allied forces are reinforcing the area from Elassa-Zuara-Ras Adeir; and on the Russian Front: a German naval intelligence summary for February 11, describing ice preventing ferry traffic in the Kertch Straits.
