Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: the German Air Force (GAF) report little activity; that landing fields softened by rain are limiting operations; and a list of the aircraft available, on February 11; a signal from Rommel reporting his deteriorating state of health, on January 23; a consultant's report on Rommel's state of health, on January 23; from the Japanese ambassador in Ankara, regarding a meeting with Turkish officials on the Adana Conference, on February 9; from the Japanese minister in Madrid, describing a discussion with a Spanish official on the war situation, on February 8; from the Turkish ambassador in Vichy, relating a discussion with a German representative, Krug von Nidda, on the Adana Conference, on February 9; and from the Turkish minister in Lisbon, on the hasty withdrawal of German forces from Northern France to Russia; and detailing a discussion with the Romanian minister on Romania's low morale, on February 9.
