Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Tunisia: the 5th Panzer Army's day report for February 5, stating that Djebel Mansour was captured from the French Foreign Legion; that U.S. prisoners were taken in the Sened area and east of Ousseltia; and that the Allies are reinforcing the Djebel Touila area; German Air Force (GAF) reports of a total effort for February 6; a comment denying the accuracy of an intercepted wireless report in English claiming U.S. air successes; and on German aircraft serviceability; on the Russian Front: a report from Rostov for February 5, describing the containment of Soviet forces south west of Novorossisk; the destruction of landing craft; and violent fighting in the Kharkov area and on the Don and Caucasus fronts; the 8th Air Corps reports fighting 35 km south west of Rostov, on February 6; the GAF at Rostov reports that Soviet forces are fighting in the Rostov bridgehead, on February 6; and of the 4th Air Fleet's dispositions in southern Russia, on February 4.
