This file also includes details of the arrangements made for communications for the Adana Conference for the service to the PM, on January 29; and a summary from C of various intelligence items including Marshal Antonescu's interview with Hitler as told to the Turkish ambassador in Bucharest, detailing Hitler's fear of Russia and Romania's request for arms in exchange for oil; the Japanese ambassador's meeting with Hitler, describing the latter's optimism, and an offer to help Japan by loaning submarines of the latest types, urging their increased use against America, with a strong hint to attack Russia to preempt the use of Siberia as an American base; that oil from new oil fields at Vienna and in Hungary is saving Germany; and a forecast that Japan will be in a critical position within a few months through increasing losses in ships and aircraft, on January 28.
