Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on the Russian Front: of the situation on the Don and Caucasus fronts, on January 13; a report for January 15, of deep penetrations by Soviet forces south east of Millerovo; and that German attacks to relieve Velluki were unsuccessful; on North Africa: of equipment and weapons being left in the Tarhuna area for the use of the 15th Panzer Division; a German Air Force (GAF) situation report for January 14, stating the Germans believe an Italian account of their reasons for evacuating their post to be untrue; and a GAF report for January 15 that indicates no change of any importance in the ground situation.
