Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of Allied air attacks on Tunisia, on January 8; a German Air Force (GAF) in Africa evening report for January 8, stating that a thrust by enemy armour was successfully engaged by the GAF; and GAF Africa's evening report for January 7, claiming successful strafing attacks by the GAF; on the Southern Russian Front: on the GAF's orders for January 8, including that advancing Soviet forces are to be destroyed; and of the GAF's orders to German and Roumanian anti-aircraft units on January 8, including to assure the defence of Novocherkassk, but to prepare to move westward.
