A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of the Panzer Army under Rommel's dispositions to cover the southern flank, on January 7; that Bastico informs Rommel of the withdrawal of Italian formations, on January 4; of the withdrawal of the Hon garrison, on January 6; of further withdrawals, on January 7; that the German Air Force (GAF) was informed that U.S. Liberators carry 2 cannons, on January 7; and from the Portuguese minister in Pretoria, describing a friendly interview with General Smuts, on January 5.
