A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a Panzer Army under Rommel report for January 6, describing the enemy as concentrating behind armoured cars; that the German Air Force (GAF) is to raise its serviceability and manning in preparation for an enemy attack in mid-January, from January 6; and of orders for the GAF in Bizerta on measures to increase its operational readiness, on January 6; on the Southern Russian Front: of the GAF's operational orders for January 7, including an attack on enemy thrusts, and the supply of the 6th Army; Naval Headlines, covering shipping to and from Bizerta; and that intended operations by the German naval Caspian Sea command were cancelled; and from the Uraguayan minister in London, that Churchill is in the U.S. planning new U.K.-U.S. military action, on January 4.
