Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a German Air Force (GAF) report, based on PoW statements, of an imminent enemy attack; on the Southern Russian Front: of a German retreat on the central Don front, on January 5; Naval Headlines, covering Axis shipping to and from North Africa; from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin, regarding difficulties caused by a rise in the cost of living in Germany, on December 31; from the Turkish ambassador in Rome, describing German-Italian relations, as of January 2; and from the Turkish ambassador in London, relating an Allied plan to draw Turkey into the war, on January 2.
