Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a report for December 28 from the Panzer Army indicates Rommel's intention to withdraw completely into the Buerat position on December 28; a German Air Force (GAF) appreciation of the Libyan ground situation on December 29; of the GAF's intentions for attack on December 30; of Italian activities in the Sahara area; a GAF situation report on Libya and Tunisia, for December 28; of heavy Allied air attacks resulting in damage at Sousse on December 27; that Sousse has been rendered useless as a supply port owing to the heavy Allied air raid, on December 28; and of successful Allied air attacks on Axis lorries in south-east Tunisia, on December 29; and on the Russian Front: a report of the German front line for December 29.
